Most of us have probably heard about the benefits of the golden spice by now. Ingredients

  • 2 cups oats
  • 2 tsp turmeric

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 180 C and line a baking tray with foil or baking paper

Add the oats, turmeric, cumin, black pepper, salt and olive oil to a large bowl and mix

Combine cool and boiled water, pour over the oats and mix. Add a little at a time until you can create a sticky consistency

Squish the mixture into a ball

Roll out until the mixture is pretty thin

Use a small wine or water class to cut circular shapes into the ‘dough’ and use a fish slice to scoop them up and slide onto the baking tray

Place in the oven and bake for roughly 20-30 minutes

After 30 minutes or when the oat cakes are firm, remove from the oven

Slide onto a separate plate or wire rack and either consume warm or leave to cool

Serve with a curry, dahl, spread with avocado or nut butter, or store them in an air-tight container for up to a week to use as an on-the-go healthy snack!

Enjoy!
