If the Spring season has your skin feeling irritated and itchy, or you’re suffering from a few too many late nights and sunshine fuelled celebrations, this easy kitchen cupboard facemask is here to soothe and soften. With antibacterial, hydrating, collagen-boosting, and anti-inflammatory ingredients, this is a simple way to feel revitalised and is one to bookmark for self-care Sundays.
Ingredients
- 1 handful oats
- 1 bag chamomile tea
- 1 tbsp honey (preferably raw and organic for best nutritional value)
- 1 inch piece cucumber, grated into a pulp
- 2 drops lavender essential oil
- 1 drop tea tree essential oil
- Optional: 1 tsp each of dried lavender and rose petals
Method
Brew the chamomile tea bag in about ¼ cup of hot water, and leave until the water has cooled
Once cooled, separate the water and tea bag. Open the tea bag and add the contents back into the cup of water, discarding the paper tea bag
Add all other ingredients to the cup of water and teabag contents
Mix well and leave for 5-10 minutes for everything to combine and set
Smooth a layer of the mixture onto your face (avoiding direct contact with the eyes of course), sit back, relax and let the mask work its magic for 10-20 minutes
Once the mask has dried and becomes crumbly, wash off with warm water and splash your face with cold water to invigorate it.
