Most of us have probably heard about the benefits of the golden spice by now. Indeed Turmeric has many magical properties, like lowering levels of inflammation, enhancing the growth and renewal of healthy cells, maintaining good gut health, and increasing the body’s antioxidant capacity. Despite its hype and somewhat miraculous abilities – turmeric is still a spice that can be consumed every day as part of your health and wellbeing routine. It mixes well into porridge, soups, stews, curries, sauces, and is amazing when heated with milk and other spices to create a health-boosting tea.
Turmeric’s healing powers become far more bioavailable if the spice is combined with black pepper and a healthy fat. Oats are full of mood-boosting properties, and contain an abundance of beta – glucan, which helps maintain and improve heart health, and cumin is a fantastic spice for aiding digestion and metabolism. When all of these ingredients come together, they create a humble and cheap-to-make somewhat superfood snack!

Place in the oven and bake for roughly 20-30 minutes
After 30 minutes or when the oat cakes are firm, remove from the oven
Slide onto a separate plate or wire rack and either consume warm or leave to cool
